Kawasaki bikes make up a good chunk of what comes through our Derrimut yard, from road bikes to trail bikes. Here’s what turns up most, what’s worth buying used, and how to make sure it actually fits your bike.
We see a real mix of Kawasakis on the bench, from Ninja and ZX road bikes to KLX and KX dirt bikes. Older ones turn up too, we had a 1987 KLR650 through the yard not long ago.
Whatever model you’re chasing parts for, there’s a decent chance we’ve had one like it on the bench at some point, given how much stock moves through here.
Some Kawasaki parts make a lot of sense secondhand. Bodywork, tanks, wheels, footpegs, indicators and switchgear all do the same job as new at a fraction of the cost, and we test every one before it leaves.
Engines and gearboxes are worth it too if you’re after a specific capacity or year, especially on older models where new parts are getting harder to find from the dealer, or don’t turn up secondhand very often.
The frame number and year matter more than the model name on a Kawasaki. Two bikes with the same badge can run different parts depending on when they were built, so guessing gets people into trouble.
Give us the make, model and year before you order anything, and we’ll match it against what’s on the shelf. If we’re not sure, we’ll say so rather than sell you something that doesn’t fit.
Most people either drive out to Derrimut and pick their part up, or have it freighted straight to their door. Both are easy to sort once we’ve confirmed the part is on the shelf and set aside for you.
Freight goes out fast and cheap to anywhere in Australia, so being interstate is no reason to miss out on a part that fits your Kawasaki properly. Just let us know where it needs to go.
