Road bikes and sports bikes make up a good share of what comes through the gate, alongside plenty of trail bikes, dirt bikes and the odd grey import. Not every bike we wreck is a household name. A 2008 Yamaha YZ450F came through our workshop and got pulled apart like any other, engine, plastics, wheels and all, once it had done its job on the track.
Whatever model you’re chasing parts for, there’s a good chance we’ve had one on the bench.
Engines and gearboxes are usually the best value, since a workshop tested unit costs a lot less than new and carries the same 7 day warranty either way. Frames, swingarms, wheels and brake components hold up well too, especially off a bike that’s only ever seen the road. Plastics and tanks are hit and miss depending on how the donor bike came off.
If in doubt about a specific part, ask us straight out whether it’s worth buying used or better bought new.
Yamaha changed frames, engine mounts and wiring between model years more often than people expect, so a part off the wrong year won’t always bolt straight on. We ask for the make, model and year every time someone rings, and we’ll check it against what we’ve got before you drive out or pay for freight. If we’re not sure it’ll fit, we’ll say so.
If you don’t have the details handy, the VIN plate on the headstock or under the seat will have them.
Have the make, model and year ready when you call and we can usually tell you straight away whether we’ve got the part in stock. If we don’t, we’ll run the free parts locating service and try to track one down through our contacts. Everything that leaves the workshop is tested first and comes with a 7 day warranty, whether it’s picked up or freighted out.
